Our store is hosted on Shopify Inc. They provide us with the online e-commerce platform that allows us to sell our products and Services to you.

Sewing Lab Etiquette, Policies, and Guidelines
1. Respect Shared Spaces
Keep your workspace clean and tidy. Always leave the area as you found it or better. Dispose of trash and fabric scraps properly. This is your studio—treat it as if it were your own.
2. Handle Equipment with Care
Members, guests, and drop-in sewers must use sewing machines, tools, and all studio equipment responsibly and as intended. Any malfunctions, damages, or issues must be reported immediately to staff to ensure safety and proper maintenance. Any damage to machines or equipment resulting from misuse, negligence, or improper handling will be the financial responsibility of the member, guest, or drop-in sewer, including repair or replacement costs.
3. Time & Equipment Management
Main machines and tools are reserved through our booking system. Shared equipment and tools are not available for advance reservation and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis for both drop-ins and members. Once you begin using a shared machine, you are entitled to it for a maximum of 1 hour. Please be considerate of others and manage your time efficiently.
4. Personal Belongings
Please store personal items and materials in your designated area. We offer temporary lockers for drop-ins, and dedicated lockers and space for members. Avoid leaving belongings unattended in shared areas.
5. Noise Levels
To maintain a peaceful environment, please keep noise to a respectful level. Use headphones for audio and limit conversations to minimize disruptions. Enjoy the calming soft Lo-fi music we have playing in the studio, designed to enhance your creative experience.
6. Skill Level and Supervision
All drop-ins and members are expected to be proficient in operating industrial equipment. If you are unfamiliar with specific equipment or techniques, seek guidance or training from lab staff. Ensure you are confident in your skills before using advanced machinery and understand the applications the machine can handle. For more information about application capabilities, click here.
7. Cleaning Up
Please clean up your workstation after use. Wipe down surfaces, return tools to their proper places, and ensure that machines are properly covered or turned off. Any drop-in guests or members who do not clean up after themselves will be subject to a $100 cleaning fee.
8. Safety First
Follow all safety guidelines provided by the lab. Wear appropriate clothing and avoid loose garments or accessories that could get caught in machinery. A first aid kit and fire extinguisher will be available on-site. Please refer to our floor plan and familiarize yourself with their locations.
9. Respect Others
Please be courteous and considerate of fellow users. Avoid monopolizing equipment and be patient if you need to wait for shared resources. All drop-in guests and members must adhere to our conduct guidelines to foster a positive and respectful environment in the sewing lab. Respect for others is essential. If a conflict arises, follow our Conflict Resolution Procedure and Rules for Sewing Lab Membership.
10. Booking and Cancellation
Please follow the booking and cancellation policies carefully. If you need to cancel or reschedule, do so as soon as possible to allow others to access the space. Please allow 5-10 minutes for cleanup at the end of your booking, as the next user will need to start using the station immediately after your session.
11. No Food or Drink
To prevent spills and damage to equipment, please refrain from eating or drinking in the lab. Use designated areas, such as the coffee table and lounge, for meals and snacks. Additionally, there are many coffee shops nearby for your convenience.
12. Personal Projects
Use the lab for your own projects only and avoid starting unauthorized projects or using materials without permission.
13. Security and Surveillance
The studio is equipped with smart cameras operating 24/7. We only review footage if we suspect theft, misuse of equipment, or any other unauthorized activities. For more details, see our privacy policy.
ES Fashion Design Studio Rental Liability Policy
By purchasing a Sewing Machine Station rental, you agree to the following terms and conditions:
1. Rental Agreement
Upon purchasing a Sewing Machine Station rental, you acknowledge and agree to this policy. The rental period begins immediately upon payment and continues until the agreed-upon end time or duration.
2. Use of Equipment
The Sewing Machine Station is to be used exclusively for sewing-related activities. You agree to operate the equipment in a safe and responsible manner, following all provided instructions and guidelines. Any unlawful or hazardous activity is strictly prohibited.
3. Maintenance and Responsibility
While ES Fashion Design Studio maintains the equipment's general functionality, you are responsible for the proper use and care of the Sewing Machine Station. Any damage resulting from misuse, negligence, or failure to follow proper instructions will result in repair or replacement costs, charged to you.
4. Liability and Indemnity
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless ES Fashion Design Studio, its owners, employees, and affiliates from any and all claims, liabilities, damages, injuries, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising out of or related to your use of the sewing studio, equipment, or facilities.
This includes, but is not limited to, any personal injury, property damage, or loss suffered by you or any guests, invitees, or individuals accompanying you during your rental period. You assume full responsibility for your own actions as well as the actions and safety of any guests or individuals you bring into the studio.
By using the space, you acknowledge and accept all risks associated with the use of sewing equipment and agree that ES Fashion Design Studio shall not be held liable for any accidents, injuries, or damages that may occur.
5. Insurance
It is strongly recommended that you maintain adequate personal liability insurance covering injuries or accidents that may arise from the use of the equipment. ES Fashion Design Studio may request proof of insurance if necessary.
6. Cancellation Policy
You may cancel your reservation up to 2 hours before the scheduled booking time for a full refund. Cancellations made less than 2 hours before the booking will not be refunded.
7. Termination
Failure to comply with this policy, including misuse of the equipment or failure to adhere to rental terms, will result in the immediate termination of the rental, and additional charges or penalties may apply.
8. Governing Law
This policy is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of British Columbia.
By completing your purchase and reserving a Sewing Machine Station, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to the terms outlined in this Rental Liability Policy.
Sewing Lab VIP Membership: Conflict Resolution Procedure and Rules
At ES Fashion Design Studio, we are committed to providing a positive and collaborative environment for all members. In the event of a conflict or disagreement, we aim to resolve it efficiently, fairly, and professionally. Please review the following procedure and rules for resolving conflicts within the Sewing Lab.
1. Reporting a Conflict
If you encounter a conflict with another member, staff, or any aspect of the lab, follow these steps:
- Step 1: Communicate directly: If you feel comfortable, address the issue directly with the individual involved in a respectful manner. Often, open and honest communication can resolve misunderstandings.
- Step 2: Notify staff: If direct communication does not resolve the issue, please contact our staff at the front desk or by email. Provide a clear description of the issue, including any relevant details (dates, times, and parties involved). We encourage you to submit a formal report via email for proper documentation.
2. Staff Mediation
Once a conflict is reported, the staff will:
- Acknowledge receipt of your complaint within 24 hours.
- Review the situation and gather information from all parties involved.
- Schedule a meeting (in-person or online) to discuss the issue and explore potential solutions.
3. Resolution Process
- Step 1: The staff mediator will facilitate a meeting with the involved parties, aiming to understand each person's perspective and find a mutually agreeable solution.
- Step 2: If the conflict involves a membership violation or a breach of Sewing Lab policies, the staff will review the lab’s rules and guidelines and ensure both parties understand their responsibilities.
- Step 3: The mediator will propose a resolution or compromise, which may involve:

- Adjustments to lab usage
- Temporary suspension or removal from certain lab areas, if necessary
- A reminder of lab policies or re-education on lab procedures
4. Escalation Process
If the conflict cannot be resolved through mediation:
- Step 1: The issue will be escalated to Studio Management, who will review the situation and assess whether further action is required.
- Step 2: If the conflict remains unresolved, the final decision will be made by Studio Management after a thorough investigation, including any relevant documentation.
- Step 3: Possible outcomes may include:

- Termination of membership, depending on the severity of the situation
5. Membership Violation
Members are expected to follow all lab rules, including safety guidelines, proper usage of equipment, and respectful behavior towards others. Violations may result in:
- Temporary suspension
- Revocation of membership
- A permanent ban from the facility, depending on the severity of the breach
6. General Rules for Conflict Resolution
- Be respectful: All parties should remain calm and respectful during the process.
- Confidentiality: All conflict resolution processes will remain confidential to ensure privacy and dignity for all involved.
- Cooperation: Cooperation with the process is essential for effective resolution. Refusal to participate may result in termination or suspension of membership.
7. Final Considerations

Confidentiality & Non-Disclosure Policy
At ES Fashion Design Studio, we value and respect the confidentiality of every client’s intellectual property, creative concepts, and business information. By engaging our services, all clients acknowledge and agree to the following terms:
1. Confidential Information
All design concepts, sketches, tech packs, patterns, prototypes, manufacturing processes, pricing, sourcing, communications, and other proprietary materials shared with or developed by ES Fashion Design Studio during the course of a project are considered confidential.
2. Use and Protection
We will not share, reproduce, or disclose any client information or project materials to third parties without written consent. All confidential information will be used solely for the purpose of executing the agreed-upon services.
3. Exclusions
This confidentiality policy does not apply to information that is:
- Already publicly available or becomes public through no fault of ES Fashion Design Studio
- Independently developed without use of the client’s confidential information
- Lawfully obtained from a third party without breach of any confidentiality obligation
4. Ownership & Access
All final design files, patterns, and product development materials created by ES Fashion Design Studio remain the property of the client upon full payment, unless otherwise specified in writing. ES Fashion Design Studio may retain internal records of work for portfolio or operational purposes, excluding confidential brand-specific details.
5. Marketing & Media Usage
Clients acknowledge and agree that ES Fashion Design Studio may capture and share photos, videos, and other media content created during the course of services, including behind-the-scenes footage, in-progress work, and final outcomes, across ES Fashion Design Studio’s official social media platforms and marketing channels. Confidential brand-specific details (such as unreleased designs, private business strategies, or client-sensitive data) will not be disclosed without prior written consent.
6. Duration
This confidentiality agreement remains in effect throughout the duration of the project and continues for a period of two (2) years after the completion of services.
7. Breach of Confidentiality
Any unauthorized use or disclosure of confidential information may result in legal action and appropriate remedies under applicable laws in the Province of British Columbia.
